From the very first sip, the Charles Heidsieck Brut Millésime 2006 magnum is surprising. It unfolds with more lightness and freshness than its predecessor, the Brut Millésimé 2005. A distinct aromatic profile reaffirms the very essence of a vintage, the expression of a particular year. Born of a year with beautiful acidity, this vintage has excellent aging potential. It is a classic beauty, which over ten years of maturation in ancient chalk cellars have allowed to fully reveal itself and earn its place among the greatest Champagnes. The Magnum format is a large bottle with a capacity of 1.5 litres, which represents 2 bottles of champagne or 12 flutes. This large format is ideal for your receptions, dinners, grand occasions, and gifts. Brut Millésime 1990 is marked by Depth & Minerality Appellation: AOC Champagne, Vertus Vintage: 1990 – A year marked by severe spring frosts, 1990 was subsequently very sunny, though not dry like 1959 or 1976. The warmth kept the vineyard in perfect health until harvest. Blend: 65% Pinot Noir, 35% Chardonnay Vinification: Over ten years of maturation in chalk cellars. Characteristics: The year 2006: A plentiful harvest despite climatic contrasts. In 2006, winter was cold with abundant snow. After a spring punctuated by a few violent storms in May, summer began with overwhelming heat. While July set a new temperature record, August was rainy and cool. Tasting notes: Sight: A deep golden hue with remarkable brilliance, highlighted by a subtle and lively effervescence. Nose: The initial nose is generous: floral tones at first, with hints of jasmine and honeysuckle. Then a fruity cornucopia emerges: white peach, fresh apricot, mirabelle, pomelo, and yuzu jostle for attention on the aromatic balcony. With a swirl, subtle notes of bergamot, roasted hazelnuts, liquorice, and grated coconut appear, adding superb complexity to this multidimensional bouquet. Palate: Beautiful balance between the saline, mineral character and a silky texture reminiscent of nougat and buttercream. The bubbles caress the palate with finesse and smoothness. Brimming with generous flavours, this champagne delights with its completeness and richness on the palate. Its incredible aromatic breadth makes it an unrepentant indulgence for the senses.
