6 bottles Azuaga 2006, inmaculate condition Winemaking: Harvest in boxes, with a selection table, destemming, vatting with hardly any pumping over, alcoholic fermentation in wooden vats and malolactic fermentation in new French barrels. The wine was aged in barrels for 50 months with 3 rackings during this period. It is surprising how many different registers it is capable of emitting. It needs time and rest in the glass. It shows stewed fruit, ripe black fruit, plums, then evolves to toasted aromas, aromas of attic, dry powder, which finally seems to integrate with the fruit. A great wine from a great vintage.
