1990 Château Clerc Milon - Pauillac 5ème Grand Cru Classé - 1 Bottle (0.75L)

Presenting a nice bottle of 1990 Château Clerc Milon with an excellent fill level, labels and capsule for its age. Drinking perfectly now but also plenty of aging potential still. Bottle has been kept in a wine fridge. Located directly between First Growths Château Mouton Rothschild and Château Lafite Rothschild, the estate enjoys an exceptional terroir overlooking the Gironde estuary. Acquired by Baron Philippe de Rothschild in 1970, the estate underwent extensive modernizations. By 1990, the estate was under the strict leadership of his daughter, Baroness Philippine de Rothschild, who inherited it in 1988 Grape Blend Composition: 51% Cabernet Sauvignon, 42% Merlot, and 7% Cabernet Franc. 94 Points Vinous (tasted in 2014) A benchmark Clerc Milon... retained that wondrous bouquet of blackberry, kirsch, fresh mint, and leather. Frankly speaking, you would not want to put Mouton '90 anywhere near, to spare the First Growth’s blushes... Layers of soy-tinged black fruit, hints of sandalwood and cloves with a suave, vigorous, classically styled finish. Superb! 94 Points Jane Anston (tasted in 2022) An excellent 1990, feels welcoming, with grip and character, full of life. The now melted, finessed tannins are deliciously supple, the colour beginning to brick around the edges, fruits softened to autumnal blackberry and bilberry, with smoked earth and turmeric. Exeptional quality, shows just how Bordeaux can surprise in its ability to power through the decades, as this is tertiary but absolutely still delivering. 20% new oak. Second vintage with Eric Tourbier as technical director across Mouton, Armailhac and Clerc Milon.
