Cru Classified in 1855, Château Cantemerle extends its vineyard on plots of fine gravel bordering the Gironde estuary. The first traces of wine production date back to around 1350 on this estate, which now belongs to the Groupe des Mutuelles d'Assurances du Bâtiment et des Travaux Publics. The property is magnificent, both for its park and for its buildings, and particularly well-kept in terms of viticulture. At harvest time, the grapes are harvested and carefully sorted by hand before joining large oak wood tanks in which the production of each plot will be vinified separately. The selections that precede the blending make it possible to fix the distribution between first and second wine, a guarantee of rigor and quality for a classified cru. About the vintage The wine of Château Cantemerle is full of charm, developing flavors of black cherry and blackberry. Its tannins are silky on the palate and of good length. Pleasant and elegant from the first years, the wine has good aging potential. It expresses the fullness of its aromas and all its power and complexity after about ten years. To the delight of enthusiasts, wines have evolved in recent years toward greater suppleness and velvety texture. An excellent value for money for this high-quality classified cru.
