A memorable bottle for a memorable occasion. Aromatic intensity from low to medium, with notes of black fruits and cassis, followed by cigar box, soft spices and a flavorful, mature finish. Nice roundness on the palate, with an almost velvety texture. The cassis dominates at first, but in a few seconds the wine evolves toward saltier flavors, with meat, umami and even a light salinity mid-palate. The tannins are remarkably well integrated, becoming slightly more present mid-palate before receding again into the texture. The acidity arrives relatively late, around mid-palate, then builds up and peaks at the beginning of the finish. Above all, it is never aggressive or biting. On the contrary, it remains wonderfully well integrated with the wine, delivering a juicy and energetic finish where the black fruits reappear while the umami note persists discreetly. The finish is long, even very long, with a beautiful persistence of black fruits and remarkable acidity. What impresses most is the harmony: power, flavorful and mature complexity, velvety texture and acidity with remarkable liveliness follow with perfect fluency. A wine of great complexity and fine structure, at once mature and full of life. The acidity, in particular, is exceptional: not only high, but also perfectly integrated, contributing largely to the wine's energy and length. Truly exceptional.
