No registration certificate No MOT The partnership between the English trial rider Malcolm Rathmell and Montesa began in 1975, following a few early attempts with the Spanish rival, Bultaco, which we shall not mention further. This collaboration was intended to provide the rider with a model bearing his name and to surpass the 247, thereby bringing innovation to this segment. The Cota 348 was launched in 1976, with the aim of increasing torque at low revs to make it easier to negotiate obstacles. Sixteen chevaux for 92 kilograms: that’s what this new machine promised. Aesthetically, it modernises the brand’s iconic design thanks to its tank-seat, and the result is a real success for the Spanish manufacturer. A high-quality example, predating the launch of the brand’s 349 model. A limited-production bike, very well preserved here.
