1977 Ferrari 308 GTB Same Danish owner for more than 25 years. Low indicated mileage of just 31,000 miles – approximately 50,000 km. Originally delivered in a rare specification with significant collector appeal. There are many ways to define a classic Ferrari, but with the 308 GTB and GTS, Ferrari established the lineage of mid-engined V8 sports cars that continues today with models such as the SF90 and 849 Testarossa. The Bertone-designed 308 GT4 should not be overlooked, but it was Leonardo Fioravanti’s more flowing and distinctive design for the 308 GTB and GTS that truly defined the shape of the mid-engined Ferrari. Today, the Ferrari 308 is a classic among classics, and its styling DNA can still be seen in contemporary models such as the Ferrari 296. At the same time, the 308 has all the details one could wish for in a Ferrari - pop-up headlights at the front, four round taillights at the rear, and the legendary open gate manual gearshift, with its gear lever moving through the gates of a polished chrome plated steel plate. The car is also fitted with its original 14-inch magnesium wheels, shod with 205/70 tyres. The combination of smaller wheels and taller tyre sidewalls is an integral part of the car’s classic appearance while also contributing to a more comfortable ride. Turn the key, and the eight-cylinder engine fires with the characteristic sound of its four Weber carburettors. The centre of gravity is low, the clutch is firm, and the 237 bhp remains more than sufficient to make the most of the chassis’ fine balance. This is driving in its purest and most engaging form - three pedals, a perfectly balanced chassis and the unmistakable sense of occasion that has always set Ferrari apart. This particular example has remained in the same Danish ownership for more than 25 years. Originally delivered new to the United States, the car was imported to Denmark in 1992 by the then official importer, Damgaard-Nielsen. At the time, it had covered just 21,000 kilometres. Produced in November 1977, this is an early 308 GTB with steel bodywork and four Weber carburettors - a sought-after specification that adds to the appeal of this early example among enthusiasts. Today, the odometer shows just over 31,000 miles, equivalent to just under 50,000 km - or approximately 16,000 km more than when it arrived in Denmark. This is largely because its current owner has never registered the car for road use during more than 25 years of ownership, instead driving it only occasionally while carefully maintaining it. As a result, the car is offered without Danish registration tax, estimated at DKK 50,000. Finally, the car was originally delivered in the highly unusual Rosso Rubino paintwork with a Pelle Sabbia interior. It therefore offers an interesting basis for returning the car to its original specification, which could further enhance its collector appeal. Here is a classic red Ferrari with a manual gearbox, Weber carburettors and significant collector potential.
