1915 Bill Donovan New York Yankees contract - player and Manager

1915 Bill Donovan New York Yankees contract - player and Manager. Original contract issued to Donovan who served as both player and manager for the club which was in its' first season under owners Jacob Ruppert and T.L. Huston. It was a transitional period bridging the gap between their early Highlanders years and the Babe Ruth lead dynasty which they would soon become. Interestingly, Donovan and Ruth had played together in 1914 while with Providence and both helped lead that team to an International League pennant. The contract is signed inside by both Bill Donovan and Jacob Ruppert and American League President Ban Johnson appears in customary place on the back. All are done in fountain pen rating 8 out of 10. Typical fold lines and light toning along with some mild handling and storage wear. Among the earlier contracts we have offered and in fine overall condition. Includes auction LOA from JSA: Sigs.
