17th Century Italian/Florentine School - Allegory of Charity

Descriptio Oil on canvas. This work from the 17th century Italian/Florentine School represents an allegory of Charity, a theme deeply rooted in Christian iconography. The central figure, symbolizing Charity, tenderly holds a naked child while holding two others on her lap and around her, expressing a feeling of protection and maternal devotion. The treatment of color, with a warm and vibrant palette, together with the soft modeling of the figures, evokes the influence of the Bolognese style of the Carracci and the Florentine echoes of that time. The folds of the clothing, the care in the facial expressions and the contrast between the central lighting and the darker background denote a technical mastery that combines the earthly and the divine. A composition that highlights the sweetness and spirituality typical of this artistic genre. Measurements: 90 x 123 cm. Located in international warehouse. Due to its age and history of use, this lot may show signs of wear and previous interventions. Unless explicitly stated otherwise, no specialized technical testing has been performed.
