Property from a Private Collection, Savannah, GA Description: Pierre Laurent Brenot (French, 1913-1998), La Cecon de Dossier, O/C, signed lower right, signed and titled on verso, depicting two young seated females, one of them drawing, in a giltwood frame. Frame size: 32 1/2 in. x 38 5/8 in. Pierre-Laurent Brenot was born in 1913 in Paris. During the years 1936 to 1950, he became known for his fashion drawings for Balenciaga, Nina Ricci, Lanvin and Rochas among other designers and milliners. Along with his fashion work he was also a prolific portrait artists. From 1944 he expanded his career to include poster artist and illustrator but his original love of painting prevailed throughout is career.
