A Keller and Guerin (K and G) Luneville hand-painted faience soup tureen and lid. The earthenware piece features an oval, lobed body supported by a scalloped pedestal foot. Two integrated scroll handles are positioned at the ends, accented with pinkish-red brushstrokes. The domed lid follows the lobed form of the base and is surmounted by a naturalistic artichoke finial modeled in relief and painted in shades of green. The exterior of both pieces is decorated with hand-painted polychrome floral sprays, including roses, tulips, and forget-me-nots. Pinkish-red line borders accent the rims of the lid and base, as well as the foot. The underside of the base bears a green printed factory mark that reads K and G / Luneville / FRANCE.
