Chinese Export Silver Photograph Frame Wang Hing C.1890. Rectangular shape with exquisite foliage relief motif on matte stippled background. Original easel to reverse and marked with both Chinese marks for Wang Hing and WH90. Overall measurements: 8.25 x 5.375 inches. Image aperture measures: 6.50 x 3.50 inches. Wang Hing originated as a jade dealer in Canton and evolved to become the best known and most prolific maker of export silver during the late China Trade period. Towards the end of the 19th century Wang Hing forged connections with Western silver firms and exhibited silver at international exhibitions. There has been a widely held view that the most prolific of the Chinese Export Silver makers' marks, Wang Hing, was an acknowledged supplier of silver wares to the New York-based luxury goods company Tiffany & Co, Chinese Export Silver Photograph Frame Wang Hing C.1890.
