Argentina, Campo del Cielo, ca. 5,000,000,000 - 4,000,000,000 BCE. Large "chunk" of iron meteorite from this massive find site. About 100 tons of meteorites are known to come from the roughly 26 craters created when this huge iron rock fell. Sculpted into a celestial modern art piece with wooden stand that shows the entry trail seen with the fall of asteroids. This uncut specimen weighs 29. 2 pounds or 13,244 grams. Size: 8" W x 6" H x 5" D (20.3 cm W x 15.2 cm H x 12.7 cm D) This piece has been tested for the presence or absence of particular elements via XRF elemental analysis and is consistent with meteorites from this fall. It is comprised primarily of iron and nickel. Provenance: private Hagar collection, Wildwood, Missouri, USA
